Las Vegas, Watch Out

On Thursday morning at 8:45am, we'll be landing in Vegas. It's my first trip. I'm kinda skeptical. I'm traveling with my Love, my best butch and "her gay," her sister and her girlfriend, and another good friend.

Will it be information overload for me?
Will I be tired of gambling in 6.2 seconds as soon as I lose my alloted cash?
Will I melt as soon as I hit the outside of the airplane?
Do I even have to GO outside?

On Sunday, we're leaving Vegas for Utah to see Zion and Bryce National Parks.

Have you been to Vegas? Tell me what's not to miss! What's fun? What's overpriced and not worth my time?

Spill it.

All I know is DON'T WANDER off the strip even in daylight. You are safe on the strip.
Have fun hope you win a lot.

I LOVE VEGAS!!!!!! I go with my g/f every year for the last 6 years.

Hmmm well...my tips are:

- set an allowance of what is ok for you to gamble. We always say 50 each a day, this year was less, due to cutbacks ;)
- check out vegas.com
- you can spend nothing walking through all the beautiful hotels.
- I dont know where you live right now, but when I was there 2 weeks ago it was 104. But everything has a/c in it.
- there are 2 outlet malls and the fashion mall, if you dig around you can get good deals.
- if you're on a budget, take a shuttle to the hotel, its way cheaper than a cab. Cabs will take you for everything, shuttles you pay and get a return ticket.
- Best ever steak, potato and veggie meal for 9.99 at Terribles Hotel a& casino.
- No You wont melt when you go outside ;)....cuz shuttles and
cabs have a/c
- the older smaller hotels pay out way better than big ones like Ceasers

Lol let me know if you need anymore info ;)...I love love loves that place....lol no I dont have a gambling problem ;)

Oh and the bus...called the Duece is 5 bucks for 24 hours. It will go right downtown, but once you get to freemont street, stay on it, dont stray...the strip is pretty safe. I mean there are millions of people on it LOL.

And you wil love all the flippers they will hand you cards with women with boobies on it ;) lol

I don't know - I'm not a big fan of Vegas. Gambling got tiresome after only a little while - it's hard to get away from the cigarette smoke even in the non-smoking sections.

It's fun to drive the strip, there's a lot to see. But there are precious few places to sit down in Vegas aside from slot machines and blackjack tables. Bring good walking shoes.

I took a ghost tour while I was there that I really liked - what I like about ghost tours is that you get a lot of local folklore, and the bus stopped at a few famous places. The guide talked about gangsters and Elvis, Liberace, and Red Foxx, taking us by all the reputedly haunted sites. We stopped at the Flamingo Hotel. And we went to a haunted park, which was really creepy.

And if it's not too hot, and if you have a car, drive out to Red Rock Canyon - it's amazing, and such a nice break from the busy strip.

I haven't been there in so long I'm not sure any of my advice would still be any good. But, there are still lots of free shows like the volcano at the Mirage, and the pirate battle at Treasure Island and the fountains at Bellagio. I'm sure there are others too.

Have a great time!

Ok so I arrive in Vegas Thursday night and leave Saturday night. Any chance we can meet for a drink perhaps? Would be fun! I'm staying at the Venetian....

Yay! I love Vegas. It's totally the adult playground in everyone's imaginations. I don't need to go often (haven't been for years) or stay long, but a quick trip every once in a while is really fun. Have a great time :)

Since you've only got a couple of days before you go to the other places you won't get to see much.

Everything is SO BIG, it takes up time just getting through each casino.

Try the Venetian and hava a gondola ride with your gal.

At the Tropicana they have an authentic Vegas review show complete with topless dancers. (they're all fake)

Get a Krispy Kreme donut fresh when the light is lit up. Between Excalibur and New York.

Watch the light show at Bellagio at night.

Imperial Palace has dealers dressed as Elvis, Marilyn and Cher; fun to interact with.

Don't go outside without your sunglasses.

Lastly, don't sleep; you might miss something!

I've been to Vegas with people who love gambling and people who hate gambling but the one thing they have all agreed on is that the Bellagio fountains are amazing. I think it happens every 15 minutes between 7pm and 11pm each day.

What hotel are you staying at?

Never been. Have little desire to go. I stay away from gambling. Losing puts me in such an unpleasant mood.

But... I really REALLY want to go out there to see The Beatles Love by Cirque du Soleil. I'd love to surprise my hubby with a trip. I think that show would be such a blast.

Have a great trip!

If you love a great view (at night) I would suggest the stratosphere and the eifel tower. You can get great pictures. When I was there last time someone got married at the top of the stratosphere--(p.s. she had lots of boobage going on, lol)

I was in Vegas a couple months ago. I was not bored after losing my alloted cash (twice in one day) so the trick is once you lose your cash, or win some, go do something else. Also sign up for the players club cards, they will give you some $$ to spend on gambling.

The people watching is AWESOME!!! Bring your camera everywhere.

Have fun. If you eat at the outdoor place at the Paris hotel you can watch the fountain show at the Bellagio.

whatever you do - DO NOT book any of the smaller companies that fly day trips to the grand canyon.
DO NOT!

and yes, it will be hot as hell. We were there in July - it hit 114 degrees! Dry heat or not - it still smacks you in the face!
Have fun!
