Do you have a nickname?
How'd you get it?
Did someone give it to you or did you just start saying, "All my friends call me Cowboy."
I wonder, because I've never had one.

Mine is obvious, dontcha think?!? LMAO
For a short time in college my fraternity nickname was CJ (I had to wear a pin that said "I am A Crackerjack (like the popcorn)...
But it did not stick...no nickname for me
ive always been called tawni pronounced (tawn nee) since i was a child. Im still caleed that in real life lol
I just add blueeyed to it for my eyes for online :0)
To a select group at the firehouse...I am called Chester....for several reasons...1. While guys are sleeping in chairs I would run my hands up their pant legs....freaks them out! 2. I have no personal space. 3. I am a male pig and the list goes on....xooxox
A buddy of mine started calling me Doc after the character in the book "Cannery Row". It stuck.
Doc
Squita - comes from Jessquita which was my made up African-American name for when we had to play all black teams in basketball in high school. We got are asses handed to us being an all white team, but having our made up names helped with moral! :)
I have many... but the most popular is Thomas. Friends and family call me that and think its hilarious since I already have a boys name to begin with, but they say it goes with my "butch" attire...I simply say, cargo shorts and a polo doesn't make me butch, lol...but in reality they've done it since I was younger so who knows...
My nicknames in no particular are: G.G., G., Mia, MyMy, Froggy, Gopher and Hot Rod.
I usually will turn my head when someone yells, "Hey, You?"
Be sure and check out one of those authentic Vegas shows; the girls are incredible. (_0_0_) :)
In the family I am called babyduck. And no, I don't know why. No one does.
I go by Ash or Ashmystir.
;)
When I controlled in the Navy, one squadron gave me the callsign snowman, and that was my name until I got out to the real world.
I've had two that stuck: YellowRose (cuz I was born in Texas) and Ace (use your imagination)
Of course, these days, I answer up when I hear "Solo!" ;D
I used to be called Mosh because I ruled the pits!
And I dub thee - Miss Boobooboo Froggy Pear Britches! Now you can no longer say you don't have a nickname.
I've never met a person with a nickname. I'm not sure I'd be able to handle it if I did. I know a guy whose name is David but goes by Wendel, but that doesn't really count.
They call me sluggo!
;-)
Aloha-
When I was going to college in Tennessee.. they called me California cuz that is where I am from, but since moving back to Cali.. naw..
In high school, I was called 'Snooker' because the first night in our dorm we unpacked our stuff, and I put a little trophy I'd won playing snooker beside my bed. That was the one thing the other girls noticed about me, I guess - more memorable than my actual name.
My friends call me K-Rush as a play off my name. My Dad and people I have known my whole life call me Ranka which an shortened version of my actual Polish birthname, Karanka.
Most of my friends have nicknames. I think it is endearing to use them!
I've got a few nicknames thru the years, but my favorite is the one my brother donned me with.. "Sister Sledge" or "Sledgie" it serves a double purpose, Sledgie is a shortened version of the Peter Gabriel song "sledgehammer" and of course all he did was add Sister to it and got the name of that awesome girl band from the 80s, which is the era we grew up...I call him Blood. lol
the wife calls me MR BIG for some reason....
hell, that's not true, but admitting she calls MR _____ would be perverse and embarrassing!
In high school my best friend called me TTW---Texas Titty Woman
At an away summer camp, my best friend, who had a really cool nickname, tried to give me one. Tangy. It lasted about 1.5 days. And that's my pathetic nickname story. No others.
Unless you count "shadoobie" which came from a very stoned interpretation of mick jagger singing "shattered."
I actually created this nickname for myself at tender age of 12 to get back at my mom for what she did on my 12th birthday. LOL Then I re-established the same moniker in college and I became forever known as that afterwards. E-mail me if you're curious. LOL
I got mine growing up due to my last name and as far as my blogging nic it's because I am so full of anger and rage....
Everyone, at some point, just ends up calling me G. My principal at the last school I worked even did it. I love it. The funny thing is that my mom named me Gina because she thought there was no nickname for it. My grandma used to always call me Gina Baneena. But that was just her.
My friends call me
Tammalammadingdong. they have even sent me mail with that name.
I never had a nickname, well except for 'fatty' when I was at school. Not a nickname one would brag about. :(
I came here to read SkyDad's blog and decided to stay.
My nickname is J.J. in L.A.
It was partly given and I provided the rest. A physical therapist would call me J.J. when he was ready for my appointment. I live in L.A. (in the 'burbs) so I tacked that on, since it rhymed.
This was 15 years ago (before I had a computer, an e-mail address or a blog). I answer to J.J. as well as my name - Jodi.
Tuay that was my first nickname the one my grandpa gave me and that my family still uses the most yeah I am even Aunt Tuzy now
Nonnie is my grandma nickname from my lil granddaughter
Nor what I hear from most of my friends as it is a short version of my name lenore
banana butt what my bros called me after I ate 5 lbs of bananas when i was in Jr High Never lived that one down
