Which Would YOU Prefer?

A couple of months ago on a Saturday afternoon, I have the TV on while doing my chores. A relationship expert catches my attention. One of her recommendations is that couples kiss romantically for a minute every day.

I immediately run outside and tell My Love. She pulls off her leather gloves, tips back her hat and plants one on me. She holds her hand up behind my head and proceeds to time it.

Opening my eyes, I mumble, "Has it been a minute, yet?"

The perfect kiss is destroyed by laughter. A minute is a damn long time to give someone tongue!

While that romance expert's idea didn't pan out, it led to something that did.

The next morning, My Love's alarm goes off, but she doesn't climb out of bed. Instead, she rolls over and softly kisses my cheeks, eyes and lips for about a minute while telling me how much she loves me.

She hasn't missed a morning since that first day. Perhaps, My Love should have her own show?

FIRST!! I'm NEVER first.

Sorry, getting it together now...

I hear the tongue is one of the strongest muscles but man does it get tired after a minute of kissing! I think I'd rather the kisses you're getting in the morning. ;)

The challenge isn't kissing someone for one minute. It is the finding of someone you WANT to kiss for one minute that is the tricky part.

Lucky you.

Oh yeah...your love has it right. That's much better...provided the morning breath isn't a complete turn-off! Ha!

Absolutely awesome!

And I could make out and kiss for much longer than a minute...I just think that's hot as all get out.

It's quite difficult to kiss for a minute unless you're moving around the face and body - then it's easy! How lovely your love take the time. :)

This is a great idea! My only problem with early morning is that my nose is plugged up and I can't breathe!

Hang on to that one - she's a smart lady!

You know, I don't want tonue unless I'm gonna get some action. If you're just trying to tell me you love me, a good long hug is better in my opinion.

I think relationship "experts" are full of crap for the most part. If successful relationships were really as formulaic as they seem to think, do you suppose so many of them would hit the wall?

I'm with Christine on this one... the challenge is in finding someone you'd want to kiss for a minute -- every day. Haven't managed that one yet. Probably won't. Glad you have though...

Timing a kiss is like waiting for water to boil. I like the morning ritual much better than the one-minute kiss!

twas cold this morning and we were out in the below zero walking the dog and I showed the missus what the eskimos might do....
(well, rub noses, right?)

I'd watch. The show, I mean.

While timing it can be silly (and there's nothing wrong with silly), I agree that making time for that kiss is very important. Nice post.

I'm so jealous you love tips her hat! Think you can get your love to speak to my love about hat etiquette and how to tip it when kissing so as not to boink the receiving party in the face with the brim?

It's really not the AMOUNT of time spent, as it is the driving force behind the action.

If the kiss is being done out of habit or like a chore, it's not going to carry as much meaning as one that is personalized, and intimate.

Your love has learned to spice up the act, and instead of making it trite, it's become a singular act of love and affection.

Have her send me notes. I think I need a refresher course for my wife!

A minute? When I have an aversion to coffee breath, onion breath, etc.? LOL

aww.. that is sweet. she should have her own show for sure

Can she call my hubby?

It sounds like odd advice to me. I think you two have a very loving morning ritual. I can imaging a brief but sensual kiss before leaving each other for the day. That way it stays on your mind. Making it feel like a chore like taking your vitamins doesn't seem helpful though.

What a beautiful habit you've started. :)

my man always kisses me in the morning and tells me he loves me before going to work. i just usually make noise and turn over...that's what happens when you kiss someone who isn't awake lol

very sweet that your love does that every morning :)

i've tried this too - one minute of kissing. same result - laughter! what is that about? but it is so nice to have a KISS once a day versus a little peck.

Sounds like a winner to me! Your lady definitely should have a show. Both of you, in fact. It would be the intelligent answer to "the view". You could call it "The View from the other side of the fence"
Yeah...gotta look into that one.

Perhaps your love should move in to my house and show my love (ahem) how it's done.

A good kiss is a good kiss no matter how long it lasts.

I think it's more about personal and intimate touch than it is the physical act of kissing. I'll take the second option over the first any day - especially since it isn't a forced thing, but spontaneous and wanting ...

She should go on Oprah.

My expert was much tamer than your expert...she just recommended a six second hug, which, out of nowhere is nice.

It's always good to hear that someone is well loved, as there isn't enough of that in the world!

Scanning down my blog bookmarks I came to you and remembered I dreamt last night that I had lesbian sex. I was scared at first...all those questions "what does this mean about me?" and then moved on forward. I didn't like the way my partner kissed. It was cold and technical. She was too much like a plastic doll. Weird. But then it was MY dream.

My boyfriend have been having fun with this. As we frenziedly each work a job, and build a house, and take care of our parents, I think that the point here is to take just 1 minute a day to focus on each other, and tune everything else out. A trail of kisses down his neck is a pretty fun way to direct that focus.

So it's been mushy text messages, "still owe you 48 more seconds..."

Thanks for the post!

haha a minute is such a long time. I've tried to do all sorts for one minute and I just can't - stand on one leg and that sort of thing

Sounds like you have a good 'un there anyway. I must hunt someone similar down for myself.

Wish that goat thing wouldn't keep staring at me with its nose whilst I type though - most off-putting.

Man, you've got a wonderful girl there, and even better, you appreciate her. Go RLL! And go (Your) Love!

Awwww, that's adorable! You're very fortunate. I remember going to Provincetown, MA during Women's Week and they had this kissing contest in the middle of town. So, Madelene and I went so we can be the longest kissers there. The kiss was only supposed to last 2 minutes. They wanted to see who could last. Apparently 2 minutes seem to be a LONNNNNNGGGGG TIMMMEEEEEE. Even though I love my wife with all my heart, that kiss chapped my damn lips.

She didn't get any that night.
(heh)

I usually wake up early and have to go to the bathroom. After I wash my hands I brush my teeth, even if I'm going back to bed for a while... and if I'm with a lover, that means... I have minty fresh breath for the morning kisses!
yesh.

Kisses in the morning sound nice. Well, night time is better. ;)

I have the same photo from Oct. 29 "Wordless Wednesday - Lesbians" post. I couldn't make up my mind if I liked the photo, so I asked others.

Mmmmm that's an awesome way to start the day

We are very affectionate and touch all the time. I think it's important to tell him/her that you love them with all of you--not just words.
