Hope and Despair

Over the last few weeks, the lack of anything happening in the construction industry has finally caught up with our bank account. And frankly, I'm the fat hog here. I know who's going to get slaughtered and it's only a matter of time.

Since I know what's coming.....I've told everyone that I need work.

I've prayed for opportunities. I've visualized working where I want to.

And then I vacillate to total despair. But honestly, I'm trying to keep my chin up.

Yesterday, after praying for opportunity....my cellphone buzzed. It was a really, REALLY cool opportunity. REALLY. Short lived. Just a few months. But I'd be talking about it when I'm 80.

I threw my hat in the ring.

Throwing it into the universe and visualizing yourself in your perfect job is how you get things done. Who knows? This short term gig could lead to a full time dream job. Chin up, RLL. To quote my friend Gina, "Good things happen to good people".

P.S. I got laid off last week and I already found a job. It helps to not play into the negative of life. I told my self the whole way home that the failing economy and 10% unemployment rate did not effect me and it didn't!

Sending positive, hopeful thoughts your way!

25% unemployment in construction industry is what I read yesterday. YIKES!

I hope it works out for you!

I'm in that same boat in another industry - I know how it feels. Be bold! Go for this opportunity, you never know where it will lead or who you may meet in the course of doing it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

The only thing that has kept my employer afloat is that many of our products are used in the paving industry. If it weren't for the government $$$ going into transportation, I'd likely be right by your side.

Wait! That might be fun!!

Good luck on the new job. I work for Wal-Mart so my job is secure unless I punch out one of my bosses.

Fingers, eyes and even legs crossed! I really hope this comes through but keep your chin up. If something goes south here, it's because something else is right around the corner even better!
