Crickets. Grasshoppers. Anything that hops at me, sticks to my face and tries to kill me.
This morning, we had a meeting about our China trip. My uncle wants to see the fighting crickets. Yeah, I know. Talk about an obscure sport.
They have little houses for them. With beds. And all of the comforts that a cricket could want.
I cannot promise that I won't provide the comfort of the bottom of my shoe.

do you have any idea of the endorsement deals those crickets get?
and the chicks! they fall all over them!
It is official. I have now heard everything!
ewww and cockroaches!
I always have that Zen hesitation... just before I stomp the crap out of 'em.
My brother used to call grasshoppers hopgrossers. I don't mind them too much, but then most of my life we lived in the middle of nowhere :)
Fighting crickets? I wonder if PETA woudl be outraged?
I'm not skeered of grasshoppers. Other bugs; roaches, ants, spiders, scorpins, etc. stomp 'em where you find 'em!
As to hearing everything, did you all see some of the stuff people were routinely eating in China during the Olympics last year? EWWW
Hmmm. Fighting crickets. First of all, I didn't know crickets fight. I thought they just were happy little singers. And a HOUSE???
I really need to read more. I'm going to look this up.
Spiders don't bother me, but crickets and grasshoppers? *shudder*
EEEWWW! I don't have that much of a problem with bugs, but BIRDS!!! OMG they freak me out!
I wouldn't miss that for all the tea in China!
hi honey, bugs die when the come around me...it's part of nature.
crickets/bugs at the bottom of shoes is good.
xxx
Uh yeah, I agree, not a fan of anyplace where I am wathing insects. Well, except butterflys.
Any bug can freak you out, you never know what the hell they are thinking. There could be major plots of world take over...
I can deal with crickets and grasshoppers in a natural sense, but as fighters?
It is almost too hard to believe.
I have to laugh.
Do tell us more when you get back.
Not quite as bad as South Texas' flying hissing cockroaches, but still yucky. *shudder*
ummm well, OK - really --fighting crickets???
When I was a kid, one of my favorite books was "Cricket in Times Square."
He wasn't a fighter, though.
You're kidding, right??
oh wow, you'd hate the woods here then. we have those monster camel crickets. my cats love to nibble one leg off and then watch them hop in circles.
...I don't like stepping on anything I can hear crunch....
I guess you haven't had the pleasure of the 17 year cicada festival. Big crunchy bugs fly into your mouth.
