Everyone Had A Great Time....Except Me

I think that may be because I'm such a bitch. Spoiled. Or both.

I don't travel well with others.

I'm really quite fun to be around for several hours in the evening. But on a daily basis, I'm kinda quiet and shy. I don't get up every morning bubbling fun facts and wanting to chat. Precisely the opposite.

So, the folks that have known me in the evening started to wonder on the second day "what was wrong?" Since they asked, I told them the only thing that I could think of. I had to take my dog in for surgery this morning on her ACL. She has to stay there for two nights and I'm a worry wart.

That's all. Otherwise, I'm good. Of course, that never stops them from asking.

And then, there's the incessant chatter-er. When she wasn't talking, she sang. Horribly.

Now, I'm almost always in a good mood and I'm sure to some, it's annoying that my glass is always either half full or bubbling over. However, I don't sing "put the lime in the coconut" 10,000 times every day. That gets mighty old.

For all of you that envied my trip to the beach....you can stop now or I'm gonna sing "you put the lime in the coconut....

This is why you need to learn some heavy metal lyrics so you can counter-attack. Sample ditty:

Harlots of Hell spread your wings
As I penetrate your soul
Feel the fire shoot through your body
As I slip into your throne
Cast aside, do as you will
I care not how you plead
Satan's child now stalks the earth
Born from my demon seed

Take THAT, lime in the coconut.

Haha, i know how u feel. I'm quite a quiet person, i'd rather listen than talk. Nothings ever actually wrong with me, i'd just rather not blab all the time! I feel your pain.

Some people imagine I'm little Ms. Mary Sunshine 24/7 but no, I'm not always that chipper myself...and there's nothing wrong with that!

I'll sing the Lime in the Coconut song with you when you visit me in Miami! ;)

I think my friends would pay big money to make me quiet at any point in the day!

Oh no! I'm sorry about that!

If I ever go on a trip with a group of girls, I wonder if they would say the same thing about me. I'm so bubbly and cheery in the morning, but by 5:00 PM, I'm worn the hell out.

But hey, I would NEVER sing that song!!!!

it is so hard for a morning person to be with a night person
i know i am married to the night person and so is my CG
so you know i am the early bird!

Glad your home and can check on your doggie better.

You? Spoiled? I refuse to believe it ...

Although I am a morning person, I'm quite tolerant of people like ... like ... well ... YOU!

I'm a morning person, but enough of an introvert to find trips like yours very draining.

I'm a pretty quiet person most of the time and really chatty people can get on my nerves sometimes.

Sorry there weren't enough bikini's running around on the beach to overcome that song being sung over and over.

Here, maybe some screen grabs of Jessica Biel nude from that movie where she plays a stripper will cheer ya up?

Okay, I am that irritatingly cheerful morning person.. But I grew up with non-morning people and learned it's best to keep your good humor to yourself. At least until 9am.. :)
Oh, but 'lime in the coconut' might have gotten smacked in the back of the head!!! :):)

I'm like that too.
Once "they" define our temperment as a "what's wrong" it's all downhill! I gotta really "click" with someone before I'll travel with them I need my space.
"Sensitive Person" by Elaine Aaron (sp?) is a great book about folks like us. Gotta go, I'm walking up da beach alone! Aloha

We have a camping group that we spend a lot of time with. Everyone seems to be ok with little differences; many get up at the crack of dawn, while we prefer the crack of noon. I appreciate the "live and let live" attitude of everyone.

What gets to me after a few days is the boom box. I want to hear crickets and birds, and after a few days, I want to smash the radios into the fires.

i hope you had fun anyway.... DO TELL about the trip. any pictures?

I've become a bit of a loner these days, people just gnaw at me ;)

Why do those who speak on a constant/consistent basis think those of us who do not, have something wrong? You're also a better person than me, as I would've asked the "Lime in the . . ." to sing something else or stop.

I hope your dog is healing well.

I can soooo relate...I know I'm heaps of fun-(after a few glasses of wine)...but mornings and early afternoon-I totally tend to be shy and quiet-
