Just Booked!

On March 5th, I'll be leaving for Peru and Bolivia for two weeks. I'm so excited! I haven't been anywhere big in a few years, so I'm long overdue.

My cousin backed out on a trip with my uncles. There was a spot open. I raised my hand without any clue how I would pay for it. Then my mother gave me enough miles for a first class ticket. Happy Valentine's Day to me!

Now I just need about $1,500 more. Let me know if you need my address to send the check!

After seeing the road to Machu Picchu, I think I'll take the train.

I so envy you right now! Hehe... you are going to have a great time over there I'm sure.

Now, if I had that kind of money, I would send it to you - just because I know you're going to post some stunning pictures from your time there!

I want to travel that road... looks cool!

Thanks ya'll! There will be lots of pictures!

And the train lets me off at the bottom of that mess of switchbacks. From there, we'll take a bus. If you hear about a bus going off the side of a mtn in Peru...say a prayer for me!

I have always wanted to go there, but this is the first time I have seen a picture of the road to the top. I would love to get a few frineds in cars and race to the top. It would be a hoot.

Check's in the mail!

Like you've never heard that one before. I know you'll have a kick ass time and somehow the money part will come toghther for you.

BTW the mail failure notice is not limited to you. I had two others returned yesterday. All were tied to those with comment moderation on. Just another funk from blogger I suppose.

... and just what do I get for the $1500????

Those are what you call switchbacks. I make my classes do them sometimes as part of the ride. They usually cuss me for that :)

I try not to be a jealous person but I am 15 shades of green right now! OMG what an awesome trip that will be! I've always wanted to go to Machu Picchu and sit in on a drum session but after seeing that road...Jeez, you may need to take an albuterol inhaler with you. Have fun!

I didn't have enough money so I mailed gold bars
you should get them anytime!

Wow, wow and wow! I am so envious of your upcoming trip. Enjoy it to it's fullest, take loads of pictures and indulge in those wonderful South American coffees (I used to work with a bunch of South Americans, the coffees they had from their homelands...awesome!) And remember, culturally they are a bit touchy-feely and prone to lots of small talk, even if all you want is directions somewhere. Indulge them and you will have a friend for life. Good luck and disfrutale mucho!!!

So I suppose the fact you still need $$ for the trip rules out me begging you to buy me a souvenier spoon or two to give to Micheyla for Christmas? I'll pay you back.

Oh I'm so jealous. The only place I may make it to is Longwood Gardens near Philly or Huntington WV :(

Be sure and get a T-shirt, and your tax returns have got to help. If not then you could always throw a party and invite everyone you know and auction off food and drinks. It's that or start selling off blood or organs. Those seem to pay pretty well. Have lotsa fun and try to pick up a penpal while you are there, but don't drink the water. Stick to beer.

And OMG I just realized that we live in neighboring counties! How on earth did I miss that? I was born in Nashville! :-)
