We're Here, We're Queer, Get Used To It!

Yesterday morning, my favorite neighbor called to ask if I wanted to go for a walk. He left a message and said that he had big news.

"Of course. What time, where are we going and what's the news?"

"Now, here and the chick on the corner's a lesbian, too!"

We walked around the neighborhood and stopped by to see if she was home. Just to say hi and to introduce ourselves. She wasn't. We finished our walk and as we were walking up his driveway, I said, "Does she drive a red sports car?"

He wolf whistled. She didn't hear him, so he called her as she was walking in her door. She hustled over to meet us with a huge smile on her face. We watched the Kentucky basketball game and got acquainted.

If you are straight and live in my neighborhood, you're currently the minority!

I like this very much, but why do we name ourselves 'queer?' to me we're normal, gay is good right? Not everybody's cup of tea but we're not hurting anyone. I came out of the closet last year, my kids still can't get used to the fact that mother, the wife of their dad, is gay. I didn't want to hurt them, but I took a long tme to realise that who I am is me..gay. I still have bad dreams, will people except me for me? I shouldn't really bither but I do, to be excepted in this wierd world we live in... I felt warm fuzzy feeling when I read your post.thank you

So, Lynn, which one in the picture is you.
Now I've seen you, too.
Or is that in bad taste? I hope not.
We can all dream, right?

Thanks,
GregoryJ

That's all good RLL. So did the sports car girl just move in or has she been there the whole time?

I think somebody could make a TV show about your neighborhood. ;-)

Wow! That is so cool.
Just some more normal people on the block, nothing more, nothing less.
As it should be.

But it still must feel pretty awesome for you guys to not be a minority in your absolutely beautiful neighborhood. I know because I've been there.

OMG. Where do you live? I wish I could come and live right there. I hate India for it's homophobia.

Very cool. LOL. On my block we have 2 lesbian couples and my new next door neighbor is gay man. So we are competing with your neighborhood.

I love all the curves in that pic. Aren't women beautiful?

I'm so glad you have family in your neighborhood. My BFF works in an office where almost everyone is gay (including him.) I love it. :)
