Like Big Ass Raisins, Kinda

Yesterday, my uncle brought me a bag of Jujubees. Half dried. Totally odd looking. He'd been out to his place in Utah and his neighbor has a tree. They're kinda like dates, but with a different texture. Good. But like nothing I've ever tasted.

He's always bringing me something from his garden out there. Dried nectarines. Dried apricots. Grapes that they picked and dried into the most fantastic raisins you've ever put in your mouth!

I love the family that I'm a part of. I love that they are sharing and loving. And I love that they accept me without one word.

I've heard of Jujubees, but never really knew what they were.

I always thought jujubees were a type of candy. I had no idea they were a fruit!

interesting fruit. I have not heard of them, and if they grow in Utah, they probably grow here in Colorado also.

Jujubes were those rubber, sticky kind of chew candies that removed our fillings, weren't they? They look unique on that tree. It is fortunate that you have a loving and tolerant family. Good for you.
