I'm Just Not Satisfied

You know how when you want to do something nice for someone, who has done something nice for you, you want them to be blown away? And then it just isn't right.

The satisfaction isn't there, because it wasn't what you expected?

Kinda like that orgasm that you *almost* have. You think, "Oh, this one's gonna blow the roof off of the house!" Then it just fades into sensitivity. You don't want to keep trying. Just forget it. It's over and there's just no use.

Well, that's how I felt when I sent Dana from Amid Life's Crises flowers. She's been so kind and supportive to me. I wanted to surprise her. With flowers. She got this:

But I ordered THIS:When they asked me over at Proflowers.com how happy I was with my purchase, I told them. Usually, I just shut the hell up and take my disappointment. But this just wasn't right. I stood up for me and for Dana, who deserved the Kaleidoscope that I'd ordered for her.

They responded:

Thank you for contacting ProFlowers. Please accept our apologies for the disappointment with your order not being as full as you thought. You are a valued customer and we want to resolve this issue to your satisfaction.

We would like to offer you a replacement, courtesy of our team at no charge to you.

Well, okay then.

I haven't told her yet that she has something else coming...tomorrow. But I'm not giving them another shot at cut flowers. Let's see how they'll do with something else on their site. I'm hoping this little gift rears it's head on Thursday! *wink*

Surprise Dana!

I thought the first batch was beautiful but wow, that second picture is packed.

My boyfriend just sent me flowers and was trying to send a purple bouquet but what I got was a lot of pink so until he told me I didn't realize the sort of effort he put into it all.

I hope they turn out perfectly this next go round!

Good for you for sticking up for yourself and Dana. She does deserve the best of what you thought you were delivering, the fact that they did not is disappointing - even if she doesn't see as such.

I know she will be beyond tickled pink! I can't wait to see what she posts.

Holy crap - WHAT a difference btwn what they're sellin' and what they're deliverin'. Damn straight you should say something, lady! WOW.

It looks to me, that what they delivered to her is less than half of what you bought for her.
Good for you to expose it!

I never used to complain about things being not quite right when I was younger, but I sure as hell do now! Well done and I hope the next delivery is up to your expectations. :)

Well hell! I was absolutely tickled with the flowers (did I tell you I opened them topless?), but I can see why you were disappointed. Here I was, so surprised - so satisfied - and you didn't get your ProFlowers orgasm!

I give them kudos for making things right for you (and for me)!

Now ... my mind is wondering what kind of prop I'll have for HNT!!

You are just so ... so ... AMAZING!

Hm. . . those flowers are not even remotely close in identicalness. I agree that you should have made your complaint. Seriously, that's just laziness.

Kinda makes you wonder if all those other gifts ordered on-line were what you ordered originally? I mean, without a photo or seeing it for yourself, you never really would know.

jeez, usually this just happens with pizza-- "THAT'S not what the picture looks like! I wanted one just like the picture!"

I think I saw something like that on Seseme St. back in the 70's. Shame we've never learned anything.

BUT, at least they fixed it. That's good.

That's like ordering something off the menu board and opening it up with the expectation that it'll look like the picture only to find out it's about half of what you expected. It's good to hear that they're going to step up and take care of it. So many companies these days aren't willing to do that anymore.

I know exactly what you mean. The wanting to get it perfect thing is what stops me from even trying half of the time. Except with orgasms. But, man, I hate those ones that you have to chase down.

Well at least they're trying to make up for their screw up. That first bouquet of flowers was pretty nice though too though.

I hate when that happens. I'm glad you spoke up, I'm the same way & would've just let it go. I hope she gets an awesome second delivery!

I kinda got lost there after you were describing....

That's a fine company to try and repair what they broke. I would do business with them on that alone- it's rare these days, integrity..

Hope the new flowers turn out better! :) I've used 1-800-Flowers, and they seem pretty good.

Hi ~ Just wandering around once again in the blogosphere. This reminds me of the time I sent my husband's grandmother an african violet for a birthday gift. I never heard from her until we went to visit her one Sunday. I asked about the violets - maybe she never received them - and she says, "Hmmmph. Hope you didn't pay too much for them. They were brown and dried up. Looked like a dead plant." OUCH! So now, whenever I have flowers delivered to friends or family my stomach is in knots.
Glad that you got some cutomer satisfaction! Take care - and thanks for stopping in.

i would have been happy with what you sent, it's very beautiful,
but you're right, you paid for the full set of flowers and she should have received what you ordered.

ProFlowers screwed me once too...maybe I should have spoken up! I'd of been delighted with what Dana did get though, they were beautiful :) that was very sweet of you.

How disapointing for you. I thought they were lovely, what Dana posted. I can see why you weren't satisfied with their performance.

With someone as giving as you, the flowers matter less than the feeling behind them. Also like orgasms. You are a wonderful blogger and one classy lady. And once again, combining the thought of orgasms and you has me wishing, just for the sake of some lucky fellow man, that you were fielding for OUR team.
Seriously, you are a doll and I admire you.

Proflowers mucked up some flowers I ordered, too. They eventually made it right, but I never ordered from them again.
