Where in the World is Wonder Woman?

Is nothing safe?? Wonder Woman had remained pristine - relatively untouched - since 1941. I realize that many superheroes have seen their costumes go through changes during their history ... subtle changes — Captain America’s shield gets changed here, little sprucing up of the Batman logo there. But this??

Seriously? Is that a Spider man hand-me-down shirt she's wearing? And square-toed shoes? Didn't those go out of style a decade ago? And do tell, what superhero wears leggings?? And is that "V" style belt to emphasize her ... ummm ... vagina?? They even redesigned her bullet bouncing bracelets?? I mean, hello??

What was wrong with the patriotic undies and bullet bustier? Wonder Woman was a classic beauty - changing her costume is akin to making Marilyn Monroe a brunette!

Lynda Carter, in a story from Access Hollywood, said:

"I think Wonder Woman has a mind of her own. And I think she was just kind of ready for something new. She’s got an attitude and if this is the new thing that she wants to wear, well, by God, she’s going to wear it. And I like that."

Well Lynda, I don't!

What do you think?

The old costume is more attractive, but with the new one she can skip a day of shaving her legs and not worry if a little cellulite is creeping in.

honestly when i saw this i thought . she looks so ex men lol
come one really . if your gonna change her outfit make her into a sultry sexy woman with a new age outfit not pants and young girl look.
really.
just my 3 cents :)

The new outfit looks modern and badass in my opinion. The original outfit is iconic, but more costumey than tough. So, I like the new one. It is not much different than something I would wear with skinny jeans and a crop jacket.

I wonder why we feel the need to remake the classics?

I think some 'cover her up' PC is creeping in here. Next year she may be wearing a burka.

And I didn't know the purpose of the "V" style belt before. I'm going to have to pay more attention.

I am boycotting anything Wonder Woman until they get rid of that fly-by-night tramp look they put her in...

Another Suburban Mom I think she went from a STRONG woman to a cutesy anime goth chick - just EUW!

blueeyedtawni, I think DC Comics is abandoning the "older" crowd and trying to identify with the younger bunch. I feel so rejected!

Karen, I agree, it looks modern, but bad-ass? I'm just not getting that at all.

SkylersDad, that's what I say! Bring in a new character, but leave the classics alone!

Mike, except the new cleavage is a bit better - IMHO - not that I looked specifically there or anything.

Vinny "Bond" Marini, Wonder Woman used to be *my* superhero - not any more damn it!

Wonder woman, don't change, please!

Everything has to be made relevant to this current generation, even if it means destroying it in the process. That goes for movies and music, as well as comic books. Remember how they ruined The Little Rascals, by turning them into contemporary kids? I agree with you, some things are better left alone.

I have to second the badass comment, though both costumes are pretty badass. Is there a good reason why she wasn't originally wearing pants?

That's not right. She doesn't look very WONDERful in the new picture.

Daddy like. Although I give her creators credit for providing us with a female hero, the original boots and miniskirt made her look too much like a go-go dancer than an ass-kicker. Besides, the patriotic colors seemed out of place since her background doesn't make her an American. In fact, I think she's an illegal immigrant. But either way I'm okay with changes since I imagine superheroes like the occasional makeover too. Just let Spidey keep the red and blue suit - the black knock-off of Spider Woman was kind of bland.

Actually, that is when I object to changes - when they start to make them all look alike. Black uniforms are not as cool as individual costumes.

I vote for the old costume. Sexy!

I think everything but the hair needs to go. She kind of looks emo and unsure of herself. The shoes are hideous! Is that a tassle hanging off the V belt? What kind of bracelets are those...and where the hell is her cleavage?? WHO IS SHE?? I wonder about that woman! lol

I used to wonder how wonder woman held up that suit with no straps! Well, then I figured out how once I got boobs!
