I Need A Crystal Ball

So, I hired the woman. One week in and she's screwed up more than I could possibly have imagined. And I know one week isn't long, but what I asked her to do wasn't that complicated.

Instead of helping me, she ended up creating fires that I had to put out.

Do I fire her now or do I give her more time to acclimate?

Well, perhaps a very direct chat with her might light the proverbial fire under her and set her straight. That is unless you've already had said chat, then maybe it's time to fire away

Yep a direct chat is in order.how about along these lines straiten up or else!

Tough call. I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt but in the end, she's meant to ease your workload, not add to it! And often, gut feelings can be right.

Wait! What qualifications are you looking for? I might know someone ...

Once you answer that question I'll tell you what you should do next!

First impressions an' all that... She's got to go!

Gosh I know how your worker feels as I seem to be the one to screw up at first....scared, jitters and the such. Maybe if you talk to her seriously....things can work out. But it is your company so you have to be the one to make that decision.

Give her one direct and unvarnished talk, give her one more week and if she's not getting it, dump her. Don't waste your valuable time.

Oh dear. Well everyone is on 90 day probation, aren't they? But if you already know she isn't the right fit, then could it really get better?

Well... maybe you're giving her too much responsibility too quickly. Pull back a little and give her smaller tasks.

Follow your well written HR policy. LOL

I'm so passive and afraid of hurting feelings, you don't want to ask me.
