It's A Maine Quiz! Cape Neddick it is! Micky-T Wins!

Because frankly, I can't remember exactly where we saw the first lighthouse. I know it was around York, Maine. Surely one of you will know.

We drove through miles and miles of Northern Folk frolicking in water that would make my nipples fall off it was so cold. We had on long sleeves and could barely keep the windows down to enjoy the drive. And yet, they were swimming!

I never saw the sign for this lighthouse. But we found it anyway. Stunning for our first one.

I had made arrangements to stay in Boothbay Harbor for the first two nights at a Bed and Breakfast. After settling in, we walked down to the town for dinner. The innkeeper had suggested the Lobster Dock, which you can see in the pic below if you click for a larger view. Darling little place on the water with red umbrellas.

The air was moist and salty and smelled of fresh ocean. We walked across a long pier to the other side of Boothbay and made our way to the Lobster Dock. A long line trailed from the place with people laughing and not caring about the wait. This was the only place in town that had a crowd.

We ordered our lobsters in the only size they had left and went to wait with our beers at a table. As we sat there, the love of my life looked at me and asked me to spend the rest of my life with her. It's a blurry pic, but I think we both look happy.

I'm afraid I can't help you with the lighthouse quiz, but that last picture - and part of the post - sure did make me smile! What a fabulous moment for the two of you!

Congrats to you two. The Maine coast is special to my wife and I also.

I didn't get the whole answer to that question because it's technically Cape Neddick Light, but to all the locals and fisherman it's Nubble Light.

This post totally transported me back to one of my favorite states... I LOVE Maine. We go for a week on Peaks Island every year, and stop in York to visit my uncle on the way. The Nubble light house is one of the prettiest I've seen. I love to get ice cream at Brown's and sit and stare at the sky.

Congratulations! What a happy picture.

We used to go to Maine every year when I was a kid, and I took my boys two years ago. I *love* it. In the summertime. LOL

My grandmother - who raised 15 kids in the mountains of Maine, with no electricity or running water - told stories of her mop water freezing on the floor in the winter.

You two look very happy! I hope you answered yes. And presuming you did, did you two do anything about it there in Maine? It's "legal" there is it not? If not, plan your next vacay for sunny So Cal and do it here! Yosemite is beautiful for that sort of occasion.

Hi, first time visiting.

Congratulations. I wonder how many proposals have been near the ocean?
It does kind of make you think about what you want in life when you are looking over the water.
Magic moments.
