The BEST Birthday Present

Last year, my Love and I filled out the paperwork to be qualified as Domestic Partners at her work. We finalized our wills, sent in copies of our mortgage and deed, and jumped through numerous hoops to PROVE that we are indeed committed to each other financially.

Yesterday, it went through. I'm officially domestically partnered. And I have an insurance card with both of our names on it to prove it.

Not quite as good as getting married, but close.

Warning!!!!

My birthday is on Thursday. :) I thought you should know that my birthday week has already started.

With fabulous presents like this:

That was me mid-rowr being goofy! It really looks like this when it's being serious:

I received a huge box in the mail on Saturday during the party prep, but I didn't have time to open it. So I had to wait until Sunday when I could REALLY enjoy whatever goofy present was inside. I honestly expected something silly from a new friend, but what I got was exactly what my heart desired, but my head would never buy.

A white white faux sheepskin throw! Gorgeous! I couldn't believe it. It was way too much, but how can you be mad when someone gets you exactly what you had been dreaming of. Well, if you dream of a house with no dog fur.

A Beautiful Soul

One of my favorite friends and I were just talking about how you forget how beautiful people are when you don't see them everyday. When you talk to them often, you focus in on their soul. On what's inside.

She said:

"I love that I forget how beautiful my friends are and that they all have that same level of beauty when I don’t see them every day. Sometimes it’s a shocker when I DO get to see them, OH shit, I forgot how stunning your eyes are. And my friend John in AZ, has the greatest smile on the planet. And Julie in Naples, she’s just plain fucking cute. I forget how cute she is. I love that looks fade away when you find someone who’s soul shines like they do. I’m a soul hugger."

And now you see why I love her so.

I Realized That I Needed To Take A Shower

around 1pm, when the cake lady arrived to put the cake together. Oh how I wish you could taste it. FABULOUS! Moist. Soft. Just sweet enough. Not too much icing. It was perfection!

My Love and I did all of the decorating alone after the people who were supposed to help us backed out. So much for friends. But we got it finished. Barely.

Luckily, I had made the paper balls a few nights before. My wedding coordinator, Trudi made me. I'm so glad she stayed on me and made me prepare early. Without her, I'd have never made it. Actually, without her, my Love, and my flower friend....there's no way this would have happened.

People would be here in two hours, I thought. I was completely wrong. I hopped into the shower as the first person arrived!

By the time I was half-way dressed, ten people were here. And they kept on coming until we had 92 people to help us celebrate!

P.S. You'll have to wait for the rest. The photographer has them on her camera and I'm at her disposal.

I'm Bloomin' Tired

And all I did was help. You should have seen one of my dearest friends crankin' these beauties out! She rocked all afternoon!

I'm going to need you all to come over and help tomorrow. Be here at 6am. I'll make the coffee!

Stress

I don't THINK that I'm stressed. Everything is ready for the party aside from a few minor things like arranging flowers and setting up the tables. As a matter of fact, I've been telling people that I have everything in order.

That was until I dropped my car off at my parents' house yesterday, so that we would have plenty of parking at mine.

My mother called me a couple of hours later wondering if I was coming back to get it....

because I left it running.

Maybe I'm a *little* stressed.

What Would Make Me Feel Better....

I am tired. Whooped. I've been making decorations for Saturday's party for the last five hours.

I needed a break. And I thought, what would make me feel better?

Boobs.

Always boobs.

What perks you up? ; )

And I Wonder....

How can life be this wonderful? Even if all else fails and I still have a love this wonderful, I will be blissfully happy.

But having this level of happiness is scary.

How long can it last?

How long can it be this wonderful? I'm at three years and counting with the love of my life.

And frankly, it scares the hell out of me.

I Love You More Than Most

That's usually how our conversation ends.

"I love you."
"I love you more."
"I love you most."
"I love you more than most."

You can go throw up now.

The Dress

I wasn't with my Mom when she found the dress of her dreams. (And no, that isn't it.) When she came back to the office, she said, "I stopped at a dress shop on the way here and I found a couple that I liked."

"Tell me about them."

"Well, one of them is really pretty. It's off-white and comes off the shoulder. I really like it, but I'm afraid that it's too young for me."

"How does it make you feel?"

"Like I'm 18 again."

"I'd buy two."

I Never Thought It Would Happen

On Sunday, one of my friends called on the phone. She said that she needed to talk to her best friend.

I was floored.

After my ex using the term "best friend" as a knife in my back, I never wanted to hear those two words again. She would say we were best friends, then she would say we weren't. It was something that could be taken away on a whim. And she did. Over and over and over.

But now, I have one. I have someone who I can talk to about anything. Anytime. She doesn't judge. She listens. She gives advice if I want it. She'll drink a beer with me and completely take my mind off of any problems that I have.

She nods with me when I'm right and tells me that I'm being a dumbass when I'm wrong. She always makes me laugh.

And honestly, I have three more besides her. I feel like I won the friend lottery in the last few years.

How did I get so lucky?

Like Big Ass Raisins, Kinda

Yesterday, my uncle brought me a bag of Jujubees. Half dried. Totally odd looking. He'd been out to his place in Utah and his neighbor has a tree. They're kinda like dates, but with a different texture. Good. But like nothing I've ever tasted.

He's always bringing me something from his garden out there. Dried nectarines. Dried apricots. Grapes that they picked and dried into the most fantastic raisins you've ever put in your mouth!

I love the family that I'm a part of. I love that they are sharing and loving. And I love that they accept me without one word.

I'm Baaaaack

I've been AWOL. And busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kickin' contest.

I'm not an event planner. And yet, here I am planning a pretty big party for my parent's 50th Anniversary. So far, 82 people have responded that they are definitely coming.

It started out as a simple little party and grew into
tons of red roses, a minister, catering, a band, a big wedding cake, a wedding gown, a flower girl and tulle. Lots of white tulle.

You see, when my parents were married, there wasn't money for a huge wedding. So off they went to Ringgold, GA to find a Justice of the Peace. No flowers. No dress. No cake.

We're definitely going to make up for that now. My mother is 74 years young and next Saturday....

she's finally going to have the wedding of her dreams.

It's a Blog Attack!!!

Hola! Jay the Cynical_Bastardhere. Since Skyler’s Dad thought we should hijack Real Live Lesbian’s blog for the day, I thought I would do something really special. I will post a really stupid and crappy an original poem that I wrote just for this occasion.

I Love Hottie…
Photobucket

Some dudes are obsessed with tits
But, I think they're a bunch of twits

For me it's all about the stems
For legs are the essence of femmes

Or maybe it's the perfect firm booty
It always belongs to a cutie

And if a woman has all three
It makes me scream "WEEEEE!"
Photobucket

But as long as we're keeping score
There's actually so much more

When I look into her eyes
It gives me a rise

And when she licks her lips
That's when my zipper rips

Even if she has cute feet
I will find that really neat.

But, she must have a beautiful mind
So I won’t leave her behind

And if she is really funny
It will make me all sunny

All of these combined means she's a plumb
And that excites me and makes me cu …. HAPPY!
Photobucket

Thank you. Thank you. I believe I will take this poem and go down to the local coffee shop for open mic night. And I might take these girls with me…

Delightful!

A little bit ago, an odd number showed up on my caller ID. I answered and Lo and Behold, it's Mickey-T. He and Pfhrankie Bondo were right up the road and called to see if they could stop by for a visit. They were on their way back from Vinny's wedding.

What fun! The one thing I love about other bloggers are the wonderful stories and it feels like we've been friends forever.

We hung out. Wandered around the house. Drank beer. And talked.

A perfect Sunday afternoon!

They have pics. Sadly, I totally forgot to take any. I'll steal from them as soon as they post them.

My Favorite Thief

How can you not love a thief that 'fesses up with a love note?
